The client envisioned a bold game room that incorporated a wall of TVs (a must-have for the husband and their sons!) and a custom pool table as the centerpiece. From this starting point, we planned the space to maximize comfort, functionality, and style. A custom-stained pool table with charcoal felt and a table tennis cover to allow flexible use formed the room’s centerpiece. To optimize space and create a seamless viewing experience for sports and gaming, we measured and designed a multi-TV wall with precise placement.

To increase functionality, we converted a storage closet into a dry bar, widening the entryway into an elegant arch with rope lighting tucked behind it. Cabinetry, quartz counters, and floating shelves provide storage, while layered accent lighting on dimmers sets the mood. For an extra hint of character, we added wallpaper to the back wall.

With the pool table commanding the room’s center, we arranged seating around it to create multiple zones. Two bistro bar tables with plush leather stools sit along one side of the room, providing elevated seating with clear views of the TV wall—perfect for hanging out while others play pool. We wrapped the room in a moody blue-green paint, balanced with an ombre wallpaper on the main window wall, which adds visual interest and breaks up the darker tone.

Glossy black trim and doors add sleek contrast and polish, while the crowning detail—a dramatic chandelier with cascading black chains ending in a cluster of glass globe lights—creates a memorable first impression with an edgy, modern touch.

Adding a personal element, the client’s sons selected lyrics from a favorite song for a custom neon sign, lending a playful, youthful energy to the space.

This game room redesign embodies the family’s vision, transforming a forgotten bonus room into a show-stopping, multifunctional space with personality and purpose.
