After a storm caused a tree to crash onto this family’s home, the owners took the opportunity to elevate their primary bathroom and closet from functional to spa-like and luxurious. With a shared love for their two cats, every material was chosen with durability in mind to withstand both human and feline touch.
Key Design Elements and Scope
The shower, reimagined in a midnight blue herringbone tile, introduced a rich, bold focal point to the bathroom. Burnished brass hardware added a classic warmth, enhancing the color’s depth and creating a timeless yet modern look.
Luxury Showers in Deep Hues
We replaced the expansive wall of vanity mirrors with burnished brass arched mirrors framed against a chalky gray textured wallpaper with subtle gold undertones. This feature added layers of warmth and movement while maintaining the open, light-filled quality the clients loved. Around the freestanding tub, we framed the space to showcase light, creating a balanced atmosphere that highlights the new pendant light’s soft wave pattern.
Layers of Light and Texture
Attached to the bathroom, the primary closet received an overhaul to meet each partner's unique needs. We reimagined the layout to create clear zones, adding ample shoe storage for the wife while providing hanging space and a distinct area for the husband’s clothing. Full-length mirrors and refined finishes bring a seamless flow from the bathroom into the closet.
Closet Redesign for Functional Luxury
Light tones and warm accents, from grayish-brown cabinets to soft gold hardware, anchor the design. The large, herringbone-tiled flooring extends throughout, creating cohesion with minimal visual movement. Brass finishes in plumbing fixtures, cabinet hardware, and mirrors add warmth and cohesiveness.
From the moment my clients saw the brass accents, bold shower color, and elegant wallpaper, they were so happy to have stepped out of their comfort zone for a design that exceeded their expectations. Creating a tranquil space that met each of their unique wishes—bright, layered with warmth, and carrying hints of bold, moody elegance—was a wonderful gift.
